Need something my ADHD/ASD child (7) can chew

DD1 is constantly chewing her hair, or her fingers, and has now started biting through her sleeves. The only two school cardigans that she will tolerate wearing (at £15 a pop!) have both come home in the past week with holes chewed through the sleeves and pockets Sad

Am looking for something safe and robust that she could chew on when needed, for use at school and home. Have found a few online, but wondering if anyone has personal recommendations. Thanks.

We use Chewy Tubes (got ours on Amazon) they come in different 'strengths'. So the red t shape is quite pliable, the red with an O at the top is tougher. A friend's daughter uses chewellery (sorry don't know how its spelt!),she has a necklace that's safe to bite. It does look more subtle than my son's chewy Tubes.

I know you're looking for personal recommendations.... my DS's school agreed to let him have gum on occasion as he does find it calming.

we got recommended www.specialdirect.com/shops/sd/Products/PD2056475/Chewlery/ by the OT as likely to stand up to the chewing

We also got the Chewlery, a necklace and bracelet. They did make for a mess with dribbling etc but cheaper than holes in cardis. I do sympathise. DD is 12 now and is getting a lot better, but I still find random chewed up bits all over the house.

My dd is 5 and I just got her a chewigems necklace. It is great. She has only had it for a couple of weeks but I've only had to remind her a few times to bite the necklace instead! The best thing is it looks quite cool :) she has pink dog tags!

I hope you find something x

Poltergoose - I really like that link and hoping to see if school will allow DS1 to wear a dog tag or black pendent. He is a frantic chewer. Always has been.
