Hi, I need a bit of advice about DS2 who has just turned 7. He's always been a live wire, has a cheeky glint in his eye, is a little comedian. I'm a very soft mum and often when he has really needed a bit of discipline he gets away with it as he'll say something funny and I can't help but laugh along ( life's to short to get hung up on the small stuff, right ?) . The trouble is as times goes on, the inattention and silliness are starting to become a bit draining. I've got a lot of patience and have always ensured both my children ( have 13 year old DS also) have lots of stimulating activities going on after school etc but Im becoming a bit concerned that DS may have an attention problem. He has a tendency to flit from one thing to another and never really gets involved mentally with the task in hand. We do have random times when he can sit for an hour with a Lego set and build a whole model following the instructions which I don't think sits with ADHD. His teacher says he often goes off on a tangent when they are in lessons and doesn't always seem very attentive but had never suggested there is too much of a problem ( having said that I am going in to see her after school tomorrow as I couldn't make parents eve just before Christmas). I read briefly about there being different types of Attention disorder, any advice/ opinions would be greatfully received...not sure if he'll grow out of it or if I should be concerned, Thanks
