I just never came here because I didn't need to and I didn't (and don't) think I could add anything useful.

What shocked me so much about my thread in chat was the absolute vitriol. I had tried (I think- I hope it came across) to make the title and my initial post as gentle and sympathetic as possible - or sensitive you know? But within 2 or 3 posts there were people jumping all over me saying I was a bad mother for not supervising DD and then the he must be a peedo rapists crawled out of the woodwork.

I have every admiration for every single one of you. It must be horribly difficult to deal with this sort of thing on a daily basis. I really and truly take my hat off to all of you.
