respite alternatives

We are assessed as needing a overnight respite care, however DS won't access the local respite centre for this, accessing places is one of DS's problems, hence why school is an issue too. Help me think of alternatives to propose to the SW.

We have missed 9 stays lately meaning someone else benefits from our respite stay (which I don't mind, as we all need a break) however we get no extra budget for others using our package iyswim.

Now I sound unreasonable !

How about direct payments for someone to stay over at yours whilst you either go out or perhaps even go away for a weekend when your ds is used to the carer?

yes we get DP for other stuff, I will mention it about using them for overnight at home. I will also ask the Friday tea time carer if she fancies an overnight Hmm DS won't access a link family, have tried that route too.
