Flu and ASD

We are having the worst week. I don't pity post as a rule, but I am stressed (big admittance from me). DS4 who is 5 and has ASD is deaf and non verbal, has been throwing 39-40 degree temperatures since Monday. He has snot too, headaches, chewing hard on his T tube chew and muslins, also think that his limbs ache too. He is exhausted, not eating particularly or drinking very much. I have resorted to suppositories for analgesia as he won't take meds orally or now disguised in squash.

Anyone managed to deal with flu in a child who can't tell you what's the matter? He is frantic when the temperature rockets. I'm seeing the GP this afternoon just to confirm that it is flu. If it is, he's getting a flu jab next winter. Confused
