Do you get awarded depending on what award you have? e.g more grant if your on hrc than if your on mrc? Just wondering as hoping to apply but not sure if I should wait for dds reconsideration on dla first.

No everyone gets the sane its just if you get HRC your application is usually put through automatically without the need for a home visit (although they still gave us one by mistake first year we applied!) First application you usually get up to 900pound or thereabouts so put down a few items and you usually get all three of them on first time

Can i let any Scottish mums aware of another charity which is actually funded by Family Fund, but you can get both. First application usually between £500-£700. Its called Take A Break Scotland and application can be downloaded online. Last year i was awarded from Family Fund same as Leonie £500 Haven voucher but my social worker told me about Take A Break and i got £700 from them also, so managed 2 breaks.

First I've I applied I got driving lessons. I got the BSM package, which was two theories, two driving tests and i think 25 hours of lessons. We were told to apply for three things, which I did, but I only got the lessons. I saw only, but they were very great fully received. Changed my life being able to drive.

A few years later we received £500 towards making our garden safe for DS2 to play in, which covered getting it leveled and concrete borders removed.

It is after all a charity and whetever you receive should be greatfully received.

Sorry Leonie, was not saying you were.

Maybe they did not do the BSM packages when you applied? I know that if you get them for subsequent applications you have to wait two years before applying as they are expensive ones.

Hi all,
Just to confirm, our average grant is around £500 and this all depends on your individual circumstances. We assess each application individually and you can see details of our eligibility criteria on our website (posted above). You can also join us on facebook, just search Family Fund.
For first time applications, it can take up to 3 months. If you have applied to us before, this can take up to 8-10 weeks.
Do get in touch via our website, facebook or twitter (@familyfund) if you have anymore questions.
Thanks
Family Fund
