I was reading a thread just the other day in which a lady had withdrawn all extra help with Dc to try and highlight the difficulties the child had to the school, please can someone help me find it?

You don't mean me, do you? I haven't got any 'official' help, I've just scaled back the efforts I make to bridge the gap between DD2 and her peers.

I mentioned it here

Hello yes, sorry I just re-read my post that doesn't sound very good does it?
Thanks I didn't mean it to sound like that, sorry again. I started doing the same with my Ds at the beginning of this year eg not giving Ds constant reminders to hand in homework as he entered the school, change school books, etc etc. just wanted check in on the thread. Thanks

LOL. It's horrible isn't it, but I don't think the children suffer any more than they are already when you're not around and hopefully it will speed up recognition and support.

I did exactly that for my DS. It worked. The school soon got off their arse when they realised that their potential IB and University student wasn't realising his potential. We now have a dx of severe dyslexia and LOTS of help.

Hi ponder just wanted to say, before you do this makes sure everything that goes into school is very clearly labelled, otherwise you will be spending a fortune replacing stuff.

I have pretty much done this in an attempt to begin to prepare Dd3 for secondary but so far this week we have mislaid 2 purses, school shoes, reading book, newsletter, handwriting pen and that was upto yesterday because I havent seen her after school today yet. Lol.

I know exactly why you would do it though.

Good luckSmile
