Looking for a speech therapist in Lambeth (also posted in education)

Can anyone recommend a speech therapist in or around Lambeth?

My son is 4, and in reception (August birthday, poor thing). His language is good and he is very chatty, but can't always make himself understood because he still can't make certain sounds ("c" and "g" are the worst - pretty common problems from what I've read). His (very good) school have identified this as a problem and referred him for NHS speech therapy but warned that it's a long wait. I'm considering paying for an initial assessment to get the ball rolling.

Any suggestions? We live between Vauxhall and Stockwell can get easily to lots of places in South, South West and Central London.

Also, any indications of cost?

Thanks in advance.

Sally

London Children's Practice in the west end - amazing, and charge the going rate pretty much (we've used a few SALTs in SE London too and rates are pretty similar). It's about £70 per hour. More for an assessment with Jackie Harland (which is a good first step). She is amazing.

Alternatively, we have one we really like in Dulwich. She works within the nursery (but we pay her to go there) and is brilliant at helping children with social interaction difficulties, but that mayn't be what you need.

We go to London Children's practice and it has been brilliant for DD. We see Debbie Smart and she is great. DD has a language disorder.

We also go LCP, we had an assessment with Jackie Harland and Debbie Smart is doing his speech therapy. As the above posters said they are both great and my son loves his sessions. He has Specific Speech and Language Impairment

That's brilliant. Thanks for the help everyone.
