My son is the process of being diagnosed supected ASD. He is 29 months
He has always had major sensory issues, but has always been a smiley happy little boy.
For the last week or so he has been a nightmare he has spent most of the day screaming and crying but will still play with his toys and run around he has started being very demanding and forceful with things- but the things that have got worse are:
When changing his nappy won't let me put one on will fight and scream (new).
Will fight and scream when I am getting him dressed, won't wear shoes and socks again and won't wear a coat.
He is not sleeping again, waking between 3-7 times a night- not crying but moving about and singing. He is still in our room in a travel cot as he has refused to sleep anywhere else.
He won't let me pick him up unless its him that wants it - the same with touch.
He has got much more unhappy crying and getting cross with most people that come near him.
He has been picking at his face and especially his nose and making it so sore it is now raw.
He is much more rigid now and won't tolerate me even touching his toys- before he would let me, or he would remove my hand or just walk away if he did not want me to touch him, now he grabs it away and has even hit out a few times.
I have given him calpol and this has made no difference - he has got a bit of a cold, but no red ears or throat and as much as the dr could tell a clear chest. he screamed from the minute I entered the surgery to the minute I left the whole time so was difficult to tell if tummy was hurting or not, he is not showing any other signs of being unwell and he has never reacted like this to infections before.
He is not really eating atm we are down to about 4 or 5 foods but he won't eat much of them, all the dr could suggest was to get an appointment to a dietition but If I can't get him to eat then what will this achieve- I am trying to encourage him but he is only eating peas, cheerios (without milk), biscuits and the odd bit of banana, and choc milkshake.
The OT assistant just walked in to DS being his worst and is going to try and get the OT to call me..
I am just so worried about him he seems to have got so so much worse over the last week and a bit.
