My 5 yr old ds has always needed very strict routine and never needed much sleep. I always suspected something was different with him and have embraced all of his uniqueness. He has now started making noises - first hey we're like spit the dog now he snorts like a pig a lot! He can't seem to help it and definitely does it more when stressed or upset. A first we tried ignoring it this may it worse, then we tried telling him off which also made it worse. He communicates well so I asked him why he does it he said it makes him feel happy but is upset when it upsets me. I'm convinced it is a form of stimming and am not sure what to do next do I meet with is teacher to see what she thinks? Or visit GP does anyone know he best route?

The only route, in my opinion, is to go to the GP and get a proper referral.

If you are the least bit concerned I wouldn't hesitate to make an appointment.

I hope it all works out ok. Smile
