I know you will understand how excited I am. DS 5 ASD

Ds ate everything a a baby but sine 2 1/2 would only eat dry food except for jelly or rice pudding. It's been a real pain!!!

Recently he has begun to eat baked beans and has allowed me to feed him the odd spoon of mash / gravy off my plate (must be tepid won't eat anything hot).

I've just fed him a whole bowl of chunky homemade veg soup!!! I can't believe it, feels like a massive breakthrough!!!

I so understand where your coming from :)
DS ate anything as a baby then at 3and a half stop eating almost anything other than mash potato.
He's now 8 and a half and this last month has tried lots of new stuff :)
Today he's eaten a plate of cauliflower, sprouts, mash potato and corned beef with lashings of gravy with 6 dry Yorkshire puddings as dessert!
So it's taken a long time but it does sometimes improve :)

Normally lurk, but had to say Brilliant! My DS is 22, with CP, and autism. Had lost of eating related issues when younger, especially texture related. Horrible memories of us eating meals when out, whilst he would have a packet of Quavers/Muller Rice! He now eats many, many different things, and hopefully this will hapen with your DC too!

Well done!.
We've started eating soup in the last year; so handy.
My aim this year is to introduce 2 more plain meals to his repertoire....hoping for chicken something, maybe soup, risotto, chicken a la king. And perhaps fish pie?

I am delighted for you! Smile

Ooh how exciting!!! Smile Smile

Gives me hope for my DS. He's 8 now and still won't stray from his small list of approved foods.
