OK, breathe, Lollipop, breathe!
Applied for a job through an agency and got called for a chat today. They're very impressed and are putting me forward to the actual company.
2 problems.
- They've not told me the company yet, and as I'd need to commute, I'm seriously panicking about the journey if I'm called for interview. I like to research this beforehand. Some of the places that do the same kind of work are fairly close to the train station, others are miles away and it's scaring me a bit! Then if I GET the job, I've got that commute all the time! It's a fairly well paying job, and I've got a disabled persons' railcard so that helps, I suppose in terms of costs. But what if my train's late, or my bus??
- Slightly more pressing I think, there was no ideal time to mention my visual impairment and not driving. Really, all my sight stops me doing is driving but some places seem very hung up about that. It's an office based job but I like to be upfront about it and I'm scared the company will turn round and say no when they find out :( Do I tell them directly if I get an interview, or do I tell the agency next time they ring?
Right, OK, feel slightly better now, but, wow, never felt a wave of panic like that before!
