Hi ? we received a proposed statement for DD a few weeks ago; she?s 33 months, has Down Syndrome and was classified by the EP during the statement process as having a development age of between 16-22 months.

Whilst it?s great the LEA have agreed to a statement, the actual provisions are very vague, and lack any specific details of how, when, by whom etc. - see previous thread

The LEA have agreed to meet with us next week to discuss our concerns. Now that we have a date I?m really nervous, as I have no idea what to expect, any advice would be greatly appreciated! TIA

Don't agree to anything that is not on your agenda, if needs be then tell them you will think about that particular point and come back to them if it seems like a positive step but you are not totally sure.

Have you seen this? www.ace-ed.org.uk/Resources/ACE/advice%20booklets/GettingTheStatementRight%20Mar2011.pdf
