Hi all, glad to hear all the dcs who have had good christmas's and hugs for all those 'meltdowns' and struggles.
Ds did something amazing on Christmas morning, they were asking for kids to come up and read a bit of the Christmas story in the kids bible that the preacher had brought with him. Up went ds's hand and so he went off to the front, and (with a bit of cuddling and stroking) managed to queue and wait his turn and and then read a few verses into the microphone, all the kids got a clap but ds got a clap and a cheer, and lots of the parents coming over later and saying (to ds, and me) how lovely it was... a couple of them almost in tears.. I was in tears myself, had no idea he would want to do that, or be able to.... Wow!
ds has since spent his time coughing and lying on sofa, (or being 'stuck' to me in that, 'I am unwell therefore I am velcro-boy', way ) so we have not gone to nannys, cue grumpy dh... and we will be going next week, when I was hoping to relax when we don't have anything booked.
(but we do have good relationship with MiL, so I don't mind really,)
Happy New Year to all from all at chez sign. x
