ds (now 6, ASD and mild LD) for the first time did proper real imaginative play today..... Grin Grin it was fab, (it was all Dr Who and Darleks, of course Hmm) but he used one of Grandma's slippers to be a slipper monster to attack the Darlek and then said it was an eight part story with Sylvester McCoy and Patrick Troughton in it, and the Darlek were in every episode, and one was stuck inside a big slipper, like it was a boat...) It may seem so small a thing, but it was definite, proper, 'using one thing to be another' imagination, we had so much fun, then he wanted to write a letter to the lady accross the road from Grandmas (who had just given him a Christmas present) he wrote 'Dere Lynn, I love yoo. I wish you mar merry Christmas love ds. and only needed me to write Christmas for him to copy.

I think I have got my Christmas pressie, Xmas Grin Xmas Grin Xmas Grin

Wow sign! He has come such a long way since I joined MNSN.

Well done minisign Xmas Grin

That's a HUGE step sign. DS (6) only has ASD with no LD and couldn't write that, and although CAN use imaginary play, it is only when forced suggested.

Not that I'm comparing but just want to illustrate how wonderful it is.
