Not feeling very Christmassy at the moment thanks to school and the Lea. Ds has severe sensory processing disorder, amongst other things, and Lea have said he doesn't need sensory integration therapy because nobody has put in writing that he does. So now need to get private assessment done. Can anyone recommend a private Ot in South East. Thanks and Happy Christmas

I know a lovely OT in Chelmsford area, Essex. She is particularly qualified in sensory things. If that is local to you, let me know and I will pm you.

cant recommend on in your area but i am going through similar and we are going to tribunal over it. i got my private OT report done for a review and my LA didnt accept it and then paid to get an NHS one which agreed with mine! They now refuse to put any OT in part 3 at all even though in part 2 it says he needs it for him to access all parts of the curriculum.

a private report is well worth its money. just ensure that the OT is qualified in sensory intregration therapy - ideally you are looking for them to have a level 2/3 if not 4

Scottishdancer sorry for hijack. Do you mind if I pm you regarding our Lea? Going to tribunal first time in February and started receiving calls from Lea and don't know what to make of it all.
