Hello all.
Not been around on a Friday for a while so am being cheeky and starting the Xmas one!
:)
Things here not so good...not with ds1 - he is great, but other family members health issues are coming to the fore now.
Spent all last weekend at hospital with my mum and then ds2 got taken in...sigh.
They both seem to be on the mend, thankfully.
So. So far today...
Celebration assembly...tick
Big shop done...tick
Cleaned oven...tick
Tidy up...tick
Washing...Tick
Just the ironing to do now!
Will put on some trashy Xmas TV and get going.
I wish you and yours a happy Xmas and a peaceful and healthy 2013 xxxx

Evening all.

2 weeks with no school. Hurrah!!!

DD is going to a party. A real teenager party. With booze and 'sleeping' over. Argh!!!

lisad123 · 21/12/2012 17:17

Well we are back early from holiday, too worried about being stuck in a cottage in middle of no where, we were close to rivers.

Dd2 had major regression on holiday with terrible behaviour, ticks, verbal regression and even bed wetting Confused hoping she will calm now.
We don't do Xmas so alot easier here to stay calm and routines.

I start new job soon, can't wait.

Girls start private swim lessons after Xmas too, should be great.
Other than that we are all good and am sorry I haven't been about much

lisad123 · 21/12/2012 17:18

Well done little taggie (or not so little) Wink

Badvocsanta · 21/12/2012 17:19

Oh well zzzzz at least the apocalypse didn't happen!
:)
Ds1s last day today til the 8th...hurrah!
Am doing else after the ironing...
You think you are incompetent zzzzz?
I just got a mini eclair from the fridge and bit into it and thought "Blimey that's a bit crunchy!"
I forgot I had out them in there an hour ago - to defrost!!
Frozen eclair a = not good!

An eclair is an eclair. Frozen or not.

DH has shingles. I can't cook so sincerely hope he's better by mondsy.

silverfrog · 21/12/2012 17:31

dd1 has just broken up, dd2 has been off for a week already.

I sat down at the begining of this week with dd1, and she wrote her Christmas cards for her friends Shock Grin Grin

I never thought is a million years we would do anything as 'normal' as hat - she wrote the lot (all 5 Wink) herself. I had to write down a couple fo the names for her to copy, but she managed it all brilliantly.

dd1 is definitely looking forward to Christmas too, which is lovely. Mostly the cake and mince pies, I think, but a healthy dose of interest in the presents under the tree - again, never really thought I'd see the day...

ds is finally allowing me to get some sleep. he had a tongue tie snipped 3 weeks ago, and is now going from strength to strength where sleep is concerned (was up every 45 mins- 1 hour previously, now will sleep for 3 or 4 hours at a time.) on Monday night he actually slept through Shock - shame I didn't as I was waking every 20 minutes or so from 3am onwards in anticipation Grin

the food shopping is all done, and the decorations are mostly up. last major task is to wrap presents - not sure when I am going to get that done...

hope everyone has a lovely Christmas, and that all the changes and new stuff don't result in too many meltdowns Xmas Smile

oh, and the best Christmas present of all? Bloody Adele is a thign of the past Grin Grin

dd1 is now singing selected tunes from The Lion King, with a dash of Take That to break it up.

I keep meaning to put the Christmas music back on he iPAd - must do that for ehr tonight.

Badvocsanta · 21/12/2012 17:45

Ds1 has been singing in the bleak midwinter since dec 1st! :) luckily its my fave carol. Feel decidedly off today...please don't let it be my turn with illness (weeps)

Hi all. Tough week. Funeral and son's hospital assessment. Held it together or both. Been v miserable and grumpy today. Emotional fallout. I know it will pass. Mostly ready for Xmas. Hoping to keep it quiet as poss. V touchy about sons issues and not really wanting to talk til the cows come home about recent bereavement. Which puts me a bit out of sync with rest of family. I've done so much holding it together last few months. Really am looking forward to break from school and chilling out though! Hope everyone has a lovely Xmas.

Badvocsanta · 21/12/2012 18:35

Take care movingon xx

Hi All - merry Xmas!

Really sorry you're having such a tough week MovingOnNow

Horrid week here too, DD was blue lighted into hospital Wed. with severe breathing problems & possible meningitis (waiting for blood culture results). You know it's not good when the paramedic throws the keys at their colleague as they can drive faster. They allowed us to take her home today to continue treatment at home, but sense we'll be doing 24 hr obs for at least the next few days....

Got home this evening to find out DD has been given a statement, lists 9 programmes the nursery need to provide, but no mention of 1-1 care; I haven't got the strength to fight that today, so will take a look again tomorrow and may ask for help on here if that's OK?

Very much looking forward to a week of normality, with no hospital visits!

hazeyjane · 21/12/2012 20:03

So sorry to hear about your dd Proudmum. I hope she is ok over the weekend, and doesn't have to go back to hospital.

Take care of yourself MovingonNow.

After nearly 3 weeks of dd2 being ill with a series of illnesses, and being stuck in the house with her and ds, going stir crazy. I have now come down with what she has had this week. I feel awful, a hey, dry mouth, stomach cramps, headache and zero energy....not the best time to have come down with this, still have Christmas stuff to do, and get stuff ready for family coming on Boxing Day. I just want to go to bed.

fortunately I am sat here in bed, tip tapping on our (ds's) brand new iPad. I think I am in love

Badvocsanta · 21/12/2012 20:11

I am on ds1s iPad hazey! :)
Hope your dd is ok now proud mum.
I am nit feeling too good now either hazey...got stomach cramps, feel horrid :(

DD has gone off to the party wuth barely a swear or a strop!

AND she didn't take her blanky or giraffe with her!!!! She may be 14 but she's never stayed anywhere without them before.

She did take 4 bottles of smirniff ice though. And 2 litres of cherryade. (She's more likely to drink the second).

LollipopViolet · 21/12/2012 21:14

Things not so good here - I'm in one of those awful moods where I feel very down, but there's no reason for me to, iyswim?

On a positive note, I've spoken to the job centre, and my adviser is going to pass me onto people who will be able to see if my photography studio, offering packages tailored to families who may have a family member with a disability or SN, as well as the usual stuff, is viable, and to look at possible start up funding!

Also going to look at one of the Princes' Trust schemes before that, and hopefully if I get onto it, get 2 weeks work experience in a photography role to see if I really do want to take it to a professional type of thing, not just a hobby.

A bit sad though :( Another friend has passed her driving test, and although I'm over the moon for her, it reminds me I'll never have that independence :(

Ice skating is going well though, on a break til after New Year to avoid a packed rink full of kids, which isn't conducive to learning.

Badvocsanta · 21/12/2012 21:16

Taggie...hope she has a lovely time...I know I when I was your Dds age I always seemed to end up in the bathroom holding the hair of someone who was projectile vomiting cider and telling me they loved me :)
Was cosmic :$
Lisa...sorry to hear you dd found the hols stressful. Not uncommon though?
Silver...lovely about the Xmas cards. Isn't it lovely when they do things that surprise you?
:)

Lollipop...it's that time of year isn't it? Looking back over the previous 12 months and assessing where we are, and where we want to be and sometimes I guess the disparity between the two is hard to take :(
This year has been a very very mixed bag for me.
Ds1 is doing really well but he is moving up to middle school from his lovely small village primary and I am wobbling about it already :(
Ds2 starts reception in sept too so I think I will just get a Valium prescription from the doctor and spend sept off my face :)
Fingers crossed for your funding works out x

Hi all. Been to my works do so please excuse any typos ....

Proudmum - really hope your dd is ok soon.

Lolipop I know exactly what you mean about independence. Its one that never goes away for me unfortunately. I absolutely blasted dh for committing to a hobby in what little family time we have (thanks to his decision to work shifts) and I know that some of my anger comes from frustration at not being able to go anywhere on the rare occasions I do get time to myself.

Hope you all have a lovely relaxing Christmas filled with happy contented children me time and Wine (I can dream...)

mariammama · 21/12/2012 23:04

Also done the big shop Xmas Grin and decorations went up on Tues, though still have no pressies bought for dc or anyone else (not exaggerating either Blush) and only 8 cards sent.

Will get dh to watch dc st some point so can run round Argos. But I'm not going to feel guilty, cos none of mine 'do' toys after the first half-hour if youre lucky couple of days. So they end up as general floor litter or even worse, precious 'collections'... either way, more cr** for me to pick up.
