Can I ask a question please?

How are you finding people are accepting the DX you got from your specialist? The NAS have suggested we atke the route with Sam too. I didn't want to, but I found out the Ed Psych appointment the Paed requested the school set up isn't even with and Ed Psych- it's a teacher who helps with behavioural problems. Youca n't imagine how angry / devastated I am.

And if you don't mind, how much did it cost?

Hello peachy only just seen this.

We have a big meeting on 25th May where we shall tell all the professionals involved with DS of the specialists views.

Parent Partnership have been doing some digging around for me with some contacts and they have been told that the LEA have to accept this dx as the ASD specialist is very well known and is backed up by the NAS.

Actually spoke to the NAS yesterday re specialist and she doesnt think that we should have any problems getting what he says accepted.

The Autism additional needs team based at our LEA have said off the record that they accept private dx,s.

This guy is a personal friend of Paul Shattock from Autism Research Unit at Sunderland and has had training from Lorna Wing.

Whereabouts are you as i know he travels south as well as the north.

We're iun Wales but I know the NAS said there are several they can recommend here. Not surprising when the only tjhing I can see from my window is the NAS autistic residential unit. Figured they might know the area Grin.

I ahve contacted a charity recommended by the NAS, Snap Cymru to see if they could intervene. According to their website that's exactly what they do: intervene / help parents and schools where a child has or may have a SN.

I haven't got your e-mail yet- will keep checking. Thanks.
