Big honks needed today

Well today I meet with the school I have lost trust in. I need to be polite and positive, as I haven't decided the way forward yet. It's just about the worst possible week to be having this meeting but I have to go through with it and I have to do it well without showing any emotion or weakness. I need big loud honks ringing in my ears for today. Really mega loud ones.

Honk

Remember, they often give in on the minor issues first to lure you into a sense of security and then claim there's no time to discuss the big issues. Insist on dealing with the most important points first.

Honk

Write down your key points before you go in and insist they cover those.

Honk.

It is always acceptable to say "I need to go away and think it over"
Or " could I have that in writing to help me remember"

Honk honk! hope it goes/went well.

mariammama · 13/12/2012 18:25

Hope it was ok. If not, I can do hissing and biting, as well as honking.

Well blimey, I can't really say too much without identifying myself and I have already name changed! The most important thing is that my child's statement paperwork is complete so let's see what that brings. Other than that, the usual frustrations associated with a SN child in mainstream school and the underlying lack of understanding. Though we did have outreach specialist teachers there and what a difference- they get it. So, hoping that 2013 is going to bring both a diagnosis and a statement and we can have a better year than we have just had. Difficult time but tonight tbh I'm thinking sod it, my child is gorgeous and right now everything else can go hang!
