Are there any Awareness courses/ workshops etc on Sensory processing disorders which parents can attend.

We attended a PECS course and found it very useful, so was wondering if there are any courses on understanding and dealing with Sensory Processing Disorder.

Does anybody know of one or has been on one?

SenseAbility at the sound learning centre was very good.

Our disabled Children's team run one.

Yes joined in a 2 day intensive sensory awareness course with school. If you cant get any joy from the OTs in your area pm me and I will give you the number of our local team and they should be able to direct you on where to go or who to contact.

I will try and find my paperwork and see if I got the name of the person that took the course. She was australian and was brilliant. I think she has a web site too.

Try the Sensory Integration Network.
They do courses for professionals training, but also ones that are suitable for parents and teaching staff.

poltergoose and Ben10 Our area does offer a course but it only runs for half a day and to be honest, I had no confidence in the OT's in our area based on past experience so didn't bother.

Indigo good to see you back, I looked at the website and they den't seem to have any courses running at the time.

coffee hold on to that thought for a while, I have managed to book a place with the company auntevil suggested.
