Recommendations for ABA consultants

I have been trying to explore ABA for DS for some time without succes.

He has Asperger's and is nearly 10.

We had an intervention earlier in the year but no ABA training was done and the consultant has now proved too busy to take DS on - I suspect it was not what she is used to.

I tried to use her Masters student but she has now said she doesn't have the skills to deal with a high functioning child of this age.

I then spoke to Autism Partnership about trying to set something up for DS and the figures they quoted me added up to around 3.5-4k for a year just for supervision and consultation. We have no one to deliver it effectively in school save for TA who can't seem to stop intervening with her own behaviour management strategies, i.e. punishments.

Indeed, we ended up having a chat in the week at school as teacher and TA wanted to know what sanctions they should use as DS was drawing on his white board and not listening in lessons. They just seemed to want ideas for appropriate punishments. However, they did listen to me and agreed to try and explain expected behaviour at the outset and then reward it but the default position is negative - punish the behaviour you don't want to see.

However, sadly, from an ABA perspective, no one seems very interested in taking on a nearly 10 year old Aspie who doesn't want to look different and who knows when he is being manipulated.

Ideas??

I have the name of someone I have in mind to ask to work with us if and when we can afford to take her on. She specialises in the older HF end and she's incredibly sensible and reasonably priced (it's just that we're broke).

I'll see if I can find her email address. She's not local but she has personal reasons to pass down south regularly and if you're happy to fit in with that she doesn't charge for travel.
