If we can't go due to illness, can we ask for it to be postponed or can school go ahead without us?

The meeting which is part of the AR process is not the AR - the LA perform the AR by having a meeting and then considering all the evidence and making a decision.

So, you can ask for it to be postponed but they are supposed to review within 12ms of last AR or statement issue so if you are getting near that deadline, they might want to fix another date soon.

Thanks.

We have time - this years is early anyway so we have a couple of months. Apparently they do all the Y10 ones in the autumn term.

Here the school always do the AR and one of the questions is whether we are happy with the provision as set out in the statement. This is fed back to the LA and then we get a letter confirming that the statement is continuing. We have never asked for changes!

inappropriatelyemployed is right. The 'AR' is not the meeting with the school. The meeting with the school is a review by the school in partnership with you, as to how well the statement is fitting. If all is well, the LA will review the statement and conclude that nothing needs to change, etc.

If there are concerns at AR time, then another meeting would be held to discuss the changes needed, etc.

If you are unwell, you can ask to postpone.
