Have just been at a birthday party where my friend was crying as her ds has just been diagnosed with this. She's not entirely clear what it means - thinks it is to do with not being able to understand anything unless it is verbally explained to him. Does anyone have any experience of this, or can they suggest any reading matter, websites etc I could refer her to? Many thanks.

Hi - there's a couple of books I've had from our library by (I think her christian name is...) Pamela Tanguay, and the titles are Non Verbal Learning disorder in the home, and the second one is NVLD in the/at school. Sorry can't exactly remember but they were fairly easy to read with loads of tips to help the child. Hope this helps
