Hope you people have had a good week.

Learnt a few days back that a friend of mine had passed away after a short illness. May she rest in peace. She leaves three children.

Lest we forget how fragile we are.

Attila so sorry about your friend. It is so hard when there are children left behind. My cousin died at the beginning of the month leaving two children (as it happens the same age as mine).

Oh Attila I'm sorry. How awful for her family. I hope they have some support in place.

No exciting or otherwise news here really. DS was in his school play which was nice but was too young to play much of a part. Was fantastic to see so many children who would not have been given roles in a mainstream school, do a fantastic job of puting on a production and working together.

Lost a tribunal but am going to appeal to upper tribunal. Also have a lgo complaint ongoing to deal with on monday.

Her DD and my son sat alongside each other in English class for a number of years; they used to encourage each other to read more and work harder!:). DS said, "oh no, poor X!" when he was told. Her mother was always pleasant to all the mums at the school gates and readily asked after DS. She will be sadly missed.

Hopefully the children will be pointed in the direction of Winstons Wish via their schools.

Anyhow, am going away for the Christmas holidays so I will also light a candle there for their Mum.

Best of luck with appealing to the Upper Tribunal as well as dealing with the LGO. From what I have read of LGOs online they are more than adept at buck passing and general non action.

Wasuupp what a terrible let down by the Tribunal - best of luck with your appeal and with the LGO; others on here have had less than good results complaining to them...
DD had a seizure this week, it is first one she has ever had. Waiting to see the GP to get a referral to see a neurologist; I'm feeling rather down about it at the moment, as if she doesn't have enough to put up with, ASD, dyspraxia, MLD, it now looks like she may have epilepsy too

Mixed things this week. We had DS's allergies tested again yesterday. It looks like the sesame one may have disappeared and they are talking of a food challenge, BUT they confirmed that he is allergic to cocoa ( he can eat white chocolate but always vomited at milk or dark - now I know why - although odd that cocoa butter is fine).
I have just had an e-mail inviting me for a job interview the week after next. It is a perfect few hours and near to home so fingers crossed it may be suitable and so might I....

Thanks Attilla and time. I know the LGo is not up too much but this one actually wants to talk to me on the phone rather that just say bog off straight away so will see.

Been a very strange week here, mum needs to see a neurosurgeon which is causing all of us to have sleepless nights. Her appt is next week.

DS1 been very unsettled in the PRU and am bit worried. Spoken to his teacher and they seem on top of it but we will see. There was also an unfortunate incident in school where he went to dry his face with a towel which someone had used to wipe their bottom on! DS came home made himself sick and scrubbed himself raw in the shower.. Not a good week for him.

Luckily DS2 has been having a mostly good week. Bit "itchy, scratchy" this morning but hoping he been ok in school.

Wassuup - sorry you lost but well done for picking yourself up so quickly and carrying on the fight. Good luck with the next stage.

Not sure what's happening on the EOTAS front - teaching assistant has been reallocated so now DS1 just has teacher, she has stopped the constant campaigning for MLD complex needs group at the same time as she has started doing assessments (BVPS and standardised reading). Not able to give a clear reason why. I am suspicious.

Tutor also causing problems because of interference in his pencil grip and his art and trying to get him to read Charlotte's Web (day 1 - look after pig, day 2 - look after pig - it is boring and I hate it). He has stopped drawing because the tutor has told him he has to use a different pen grip and because she keeps 'stealing' drawings he has done for fun and trying to make them into school work. Because he's just a guy who can't say no he agrees to her face but then complains to me - for hours. So I have bought the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid book to read instead and will tell her back off with the pen grip and to leave his art alone (Margo Sharp (SALT) said it is essential that we leave his art alone).

Meeting to review DS2's IEP following additional reports from SALT and OT. Comm Paed is the same one that disputes DS1's diagnosis - she said that she doesn't think that DS2 has social communication problems either. She seems to think it is all coming from me not the school, SALT and OT. Might need a GP referral to a dev paed. I do not have high hopes of the review - should imagine the school will want a limited number of out of the class 1:1 interventions with no 1:1 in class even though the SALT has highlighted the ad hoc nature of difficulties with the functional use of language.

TTTW, hope dd gets a neuro appointment quickly. I had a seizure myself for the first time last weekend and my EEG appointment arrived today for a week on Monday, so hopefully things will move quickly for your dd as well.

Starfish, sorry to hear your mum is ill and poor ds with the towel incident.

My week has been pants from start to finish, but having just bumped into a lady we know via school who lost her daughter (who was also a lovely lady with SNs) a week ago, I feel like my problems have been put into perspective.

For all the fighst and heartaches ahead involving my ds and his education, he is still here and I still get to hug him, dry his tears and tell him I love him every day. Things could be a lot worse.

TTTW, my DS2 13 yo who has ASD, had a seizure almost a year ago, his first and so far, only. I was told that about 10% of the population have one seizure in their lives but only a small proportion go on to have epilepsy. We saw his paed (for the first time in about 6 years) who is a neuro disability specialist, and she decided not to do an EEG as in her words, his brain is not NT already, hence his autism, so an EEG wouldn't really tell her anything. So be prepared to get little information beyond watching them in the bath/swimming and don't let them climb trees (or drive heavy machinery!)

Fairly quiet week here. Just getting ready for Christmas, really. Have no presents for them as they don't know what they want. Will be some sweets and a Guinness book of records at this rate.

We've had a relatively drama free week. DS2 lost his first tooth. He was a bit annoyed with it when it was ready to come out, but was glad to be rid of it, once it was gone.

And DS1 is 9 tomorrow. He wants to go bowling. He's never been bowling before, but that's what he wants to do!

DD is currently having a wibble and brewing because she's supposed to be going out with her friends for a meal. And she's lost her camers charger (and no, i don't sodding know where the blasted thing is). AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH.

Well, not a great week. I've split with DBoyfriend, but we're remaining friends.

Had my other eye tests today - OCT and Visual Field tests, and got copies of the results to keep cos I'm nosey :) Went for lunch with a good friend after, then we spent the afternoon with another good friend and her 15mo DS.

Came home to hear that my 3rd cousin has lost his baby son, age 9 weeks :( :( :(

If I'm free, I will be attending the funeral with my granddad. It's been a long time since I went to a funeral and I'm not sure what I'll say to my cousin if I see him there - sorry just doesn't seem enough :(

Hi all, no big news here apart from DS having some problems at school. He was picked on by 3 kids and it got violent, he said he was scared but eventually managed to run away but won't tell the teacher because one of the kids is apparently his friend and he doesn't want to get him into trouble [bhmm] but he's one of the boys that we suspect has been picking on him. It's really hard to tell with DS as he can't recognise situations where he's being picked on or taken advantage of, thinks everyone is his best friend and it's also hard to make sense of situations he tells us about if that makes sense?

We don't know Catching my granddad found out from another family member but were in a public place at the time. Apparently they're going to phone us at some point to tell us everything.

Baby's dad (my 3rd cousin) is very close in age to me (I'm 22) so can't imagine how he and his partner must be feeling :(

Oh gosh, sorry for your losses NoHoudin, Atilla and the Lollipop family. And for everyone facing dc illness and/or a bad week at school. Hope starfish's mum gets on ok at the hospital, and that Lollipop that you are looking after yourself with the breakup.

We've had an in-between week, so not complaining.

Bad week here. My mum seems to be in liver failure. She doesn't drink and it's come out of the blue. The doctors don't know what's wrong. It's so frustrating as I can't kick off at the docs like I would do if it was DD and DM asks no questions and trusts in the system.....
