i noticed a while ago that ds2 seemed to have what i thought was quite a large adams apple , hes 13 so i assumed it was just puberty / normal anyway after closer inspection last night it seemed that there is a swelling underneath his adams apple.

i have also thought that hes gone really skinny recently despite eating a lot .
after googling (yes i know !) i found that an over active thyroid could cause these symptoms .
it also mentioned emotional and behavioural problems which we have struggled with for the last 2 years and got a diagnosis of AS the other week.
the doctor has booked ds2 in for a blood test to check but also wants him to have a scan.

i am really quite worried as everything just seems to be turning to shit recently..

Oh no thrifty :( kids are sent to worry us!! Dd1 came up in a hard lump on her neck last year which thankfully was nothing to worry about then she kept appearing in petechia (meninigitis ) rash - again couldn't find cause of it. But you do automatically think the worst_
Hope you get good news about the lump and keep us posted
