Hiya, i was wondering if anyone can give me any advice. My little boy jake is 8 and currently uses a ipad in school and loves it. I have been looking at them and wondering whether to get jake one for christmas. Does anyone know if the ipad 1 is any good or is a android tablet just as good. Also what android tablets are good? . Sorry for the 20 questions ha ha xxxxx

Oh - I have a question for you.... How does he use the iPad? For typing stuff? Writing stories? If so what program does he use.
DS uses iPads for just games - and in his letter to Santa, he has asked for one!

We have iPads and a Motorola Xoom, but iPad is much simpler for our child who has severe autism. The operating system is much easier. For apps, Autism App then gives you lists and links to lots of useful special needs apps.

Should add that we have an iPad 1
& 2, both great, but 2 is really good cause of camera.

My dc is autistic and 4 and is a whiz on the iPad. I'm not sure if the ipad1 or the mini is cheaper. The mini is pretty good and very quick. (Might be a cheaper alternative)
