Why did I walk past school?

Because I wanted to see DD playing happily at nursery probably.
What I actually saw was her standing on her own at the fence looking really sad Sad.
She saw me and just really sadly and resignedly said 'hi Mum' and I wanted to cry.

Crap, crap, crap. As she gets older it is becoming so apparent that she is not going to be part of any group.

Roll on 11:50 when I can go and get her.

Should I ask them about that, or am I going to come across as overly protective?

Have a word when you collect Dd. Ask if Dd socialises at breaktimes? maybe they will tell you she does but then keep their eyes peeled and use a buddy system to help her along or they may say she likes to be alone to which you could suggest that they use some kind of buddy system??, but don't mention you happened to pass by at break time Wink.

She is in nursery. So she is in and out and socialising all the time.

She's nearly 4.

A SALT went in a couple of weeks ago and gave them some aims to be working towards and one of them was to help her to socialise.

She comes across as happy and chatty and like she joins in, but it is very shallow and as soon as anything new happens that she hasn't learnt how to do she disengages and I am not sure that they see that. I have had no feedback yet as to how she is or what they are doing and am trying to back off to trust them and to let them work her out themselves. But seeing her so sad and alone has really knocked my confidence in them.

Thank you. I asked when I went to get her how she was. They said fine and it would seem that when I saw her she had taken herself off to do a poo (in her pants). Blush
