DS1 most likely has ASD. He's waiting to be seen by the specialist team of paediatricians at the hospital, but has Portage & SALT.
DS1 loves doors. Most of the doors in our house are wedged open in order to prevent him from playing with them. With the ones that aren't, he must open & close them if he's going through. He'll get upset if you open/close them, or he'll just open & close them again. If I open the stair gate, he closes it and then has to open it himself. Same with closing it. If I tell him we need to go upstairs, I might be waiting at the bottom of the stairs for 10 minutes repeating the same instruction over and over. When he finally comes over to the stair gate, he then wants to play with stair gate for ages...and the whole process of going upstairs can seemingly take forever. While all of this is happening, I'm generally holding my 6 month old DS2. If I pick up DS1 to go upstairs, then usually a tantrum ensues!
Anyway, patience is running low...fast! Feeling frazzled with the demands of looking after two little ones, not to mention DS1 is unwell & teething at the moment!
Not really sure what my question is...maybe just some sympathy?
