Flying boy on his big adventure tomorrow. Handholding and honking needed

After the succesful lone train trip and undertaking it again with me on tow at the weekend, school are allowing flying boy to go on the train tomorrow morning to the orthodontist by himself. Only two changes and a longish walk. Eeek. Can everyone cross their fingers tomorrow and think positive thoughts for him. If it goes well ,he will be made up. If it goes badly it could shatter him.

He did it. Mind, I didn't sleep well last night and have been on tenterhooks all morning but he succeeded. Thank you for all the positive vibes.

Yes i think me and his tutor have had the heebie jeebies whereas he has dealt with it all well (i am assuming as i haven't heard from anyone). Just shows what he can do when he decides he is going to achieve. Hopefully this will be the start of something good following the bad patch he has gone through due to the death of my father to whom he was very close.

Have you texted his tutor to let them know he survived?

He was travelling to and from school so he would have been back for lunch so I assume all heaved a sigh of relief and he would have seen his tutor in the afternoon as she is head of 6th form.

Dad died in March. Poor flyingboy felt it very bad. He had a good summer but has had an up and down time back at school. They've been very good with him but are beginning to lose a bit of patience now. The problem is is that he's really good at home. I think he's beginning to grow out of school but is very anxious about going to do a college course on his own but that is what i think would be best for him. I'm hoping this adventure would give him that confidence to branch out a bit.

It must be very hard letting go. It's hard enough to send your NT DC off to college etc, without the SN to take into account. DS2 is only 13, so I'm sticking my head in the sand for now.
