As most of you know my dd has cp.

Today she had her flu jab which all went fantasticlly well and there was hardly any tears.

The practice nurse who did the injection was very nice and i found her very easy to talk to (we've just moved to this practice see)

I found my self asking to see my medical notes from when my dd was born as i feel this is when the cp happened and it seems there are a few things that don't add up.

I know what some of you may be thinkng that i'm doing this for money - well i'm not i need to know for my own sanity just to put my mind at rest.

Anyway i've been givn the number to phone to get my medical records so will just have to see what happens.

Thanks Luckymum Smile I want to hug you! Yes I am in Staffs and had dd in Stafford DGH but I think they have a PALS service too. Why do we have to struggle to get notes? seems really strange to me

Fio2......its mushroom syndrome.....keep you in the dark then throw s**t over you.

I got quite paranoid about it TBH, I was convinced they were hiding something from me and the notes would arrive with bits missing. Now I've had a good read they seem complete but there are a few things that I was offended by prticularly the repeated comment that I was a v.tired and over-anxious mum. I was very tired but not it seems anxious enough as it turned out

luckymum that sounds just how I feel tbh. I just keep thinking things will be missing or changedSad I dont know why they have to comment about us anyway

Fio2.....by the way, I have asked to be copied in on the clinic letters they send to our GP/other consultants after out patient appointments. That way the set of records I have is kept up to date.

fairydust · 11/03/2004 07:17

we always get the letters from the ped and specialist so that part were upto date.

I'm kinda scared now i've sent all this off.

FD dont worry, you want them and it will put your mind at rest once you have them. I know how you feel though, its a bit nervewracking isnt it?

Fd....try not to worry, you need to see them to put your mind at rest. I needed dd's to 'get my head' round it all and even though I knew in my own mind that I did my best at the time I somehow needed it confirming, and the records show that. If the notes show that someone was at fault for your dd's cp then you can decide whether to go any further with it - at least then you'll have the choice.
