I would just like to say that my week, though emotionally hard has been nothing like darling Cup's.

It's half term, I have got a pigging clue what to do with the brood! Madagascar 3? That's a start. DD has a SALT workshop Tuesday and Thursday that I have to go to. Groan. It's obviously beneficial but I do hate SALT and practicing sounds ad infinitum! Wine to get me though that I think!

Sounds like he has already moved further than my Ds who if asked about a worry will just say I don't know and if pushed will curl up into a ball and refuse to speak at all.

There is a workbook produced by the specialist OCD team at the Maudsley which reflects their approach. It is aimed at teenagers but it might help you with things to try. Let me know if you are interested and I will look up the details probably tomorrow.

It is called 'Breaking Free from OCD- A CBT Guide for Young People and their Families' by Jo Derisley, Isobel Hayman , Sarah Robinson and Cynthia Turner. It is available from Jessica Kingsley for £13.99

I hope it helps. The team used it with DS along with other things when he was an inpatient there. It certainly made a huge difference to him. He went from being virtually non-functioning to back at school, socialising and much easier and more independent at home. He has deteriorated since but nothing like as badly.
