A new teacher started at the school who does 2 days per week for reception and Yr1 mixed class.....she was a SENCO previously and is an advisor free-lance to schools on the other 3 days...
She has changed how the class is set up and how the day is managed, and as a result DS goes into a calm relaxed place, knows the expectations and has fewer issues with complying with their requests.....more days that are brilliant and wonderful than
Had a meeting with her and other CT to discuss progress with the IEP from May - she dismissed it as not worth looking at, and just started a new one that is absolutely what DS needs. The actual SENCO didn't attend at all, not sure why as she was on site at the time.
Anyway...much happier that DS is being properly supported with goals that are well defined and measurable.........now we wait to see if they actually 'do' what they say they will do to help him progress.....but I have hope!
