Psychometric testing for aspergers?

Does anyone have any advice on this. We're being seen by CAMHS and are waiting for a referral for psychometric testing for my DS who is 6. Will it tell us anything and how or will it be part of the 'whole' assessment that's being going on for the last 6 months.

it's likely to be part of a package of tests (well it absolutely should be for best practice). Did they say which test it was? It can be used to test IQ in order to establish a place on the spectrum, or as a diagnostic test such as ADI-R, a widely used and well reputed test that can sometimes be referred to as a psychometric assessment.

I would expect feedback (I have 2 with diagnosed asd, one in the process and also am studying the last bit of an MA in ASD. Usually you are told which test they are using (that's usually set by PCT guidelines) but should and will be are not the same.
