Great news Grin
Use code spectrumgirls to get 25% off tickets as long as you are paying via card or PayPal. The organisers feel parents and carers shouldn't pay much and the professionals should pay more. They are trusting people to pay what they can.

Using this discount brings unemployed/carers down lower than £50 which is great. It also saves inappropriatelyemployed having to sort out everyone's tickets.

Hope to see many of you there and happy to look after any lone bodies Grin

So to book it, do you you just fill in the contact details on the form you linked to?

Is everyone booking without lunch? Don't want to be billy no mates sitting in the dining room on my own. Grin It'd be nice to have a MNSN meet up over lunch as well. Wink

Just noticed I made a typing error in my correction post as well. Blush Think I should've stayed in bed today.

lisad123 · 12/10/2012 16:03

Yep just fill in form online and put code in the box, just booked mine at £48!!
I haven't booked for lunch cause I'm a fuzzy moo and am picky and not a sandwich lover, plus £15 for a cold lunch seems a lot, would rather the pub Wink

moosemama · 12/10/2012 16:06

Pub sounds good. Grin

Thanks for all your help Lisa, my brain is just not in gear today. Blush

inappropriatelyemployed · 12/10/2012 20:02

I was emailed and told the code will get you 20% off not 25%.

I was also told initially that the fee would be £50 not that it would be reduced to £50 from a fee of 65. Some people are waged so a 20 or 25% reduction would be more that 48.

inappropriatelyemployed · 12/10/2012 20:04

I was also told I would be sent the details of the account to send the money for tickets too so I was intending to sort out money for people's tickets, just pass on names and let people pay themselves.

From what you says all that is being offered is the fee for the conference reduced by the price of the lunch for the unwaged.

inappropriatelyemployed · 12/10/2012 20:05

I wasn't intending to sort it out that should say.

Glad I wasted time on the phone and email that I didn't have today just to be misinformed.

lisad123 · 12/10/2012 20:06

If I'm being completely honest, I can't see them checking if your employed or not. If you want to go but can't afford the full working price I'm sure it would be ok. The lady on the phone said that they don't want carers and people with autism paying cost price, they are getting their money from the professionals who are going.
It depends on how you feel about it. I work 3 hours a week, so only way I can do it as at autism rate.

I'm sorry you feel you wasted time, I was hoping my information was helpful as I'm trying to sort out tickets for the support group I work with. We have done conferences before and asked for a code so people can book their own, it's just easier this way but didn't have details last night.

ScreamingManAndGoryOn · 12/10/2012 20:09

I'm going to see if I can get the time off work and then I will be going :)

inappropriatelyemployed · 12/10/2012 20:13

No. That is helpful. Just not what I was told.

lisad123 · 12/10/2012 20:16

I think the lady in charge has been slammed today she appeared very stressed. We are also booking about 20 spaces so maybe why she said 25%

coff33pot · 12/10/2012 20:41

I would love to go but it would be train fare plus overnight stay for me so I will have to look deep into the finances first. Damn it why cant these people realise that not everyone lives in that part of England!

coff33pot · 12/10/2012 20:58

Ok cancel that as I cant see it happening even as a xmas pressie lol I am looking at close to the region of £300 :(

lisad123 · 12/10/2012 21:00

Sad really why so much? We have found hotel for about £30

OP posts:
coff33pot · 12/10/2012 21:07

Allowing £50 for ticket, train ticket is at present £155 return and I cant get exact price as the calender only goes up to 3rd Jan so its based on assumption. So thats £205 plus taxi to station then back or parking for 2 days, eating and coffee lol and I havent found hotel prices yet. grrrrr

moosemama · 12/10/2012 21:12

Coffee, it shouldn't be that much. Perhaps take some time to work out the cheapest options for train and hotels? How much is the train?

TTTW has just suggested on the Friday Night thread that we have MNSN caring carrot lapel badges. I reckon that would be a good way for us to identify each other at the conference. Grin

Lisa, do you know if it's likely to sell out quickly even before 1 November? Dh is bleating on about waiting for payday to book.

Just thought - is dh allowed to be an honourary MNSNer for the day? He does actually have a MN account, although he only set it up to do a test when the privacy settings on my profile went awry.

lisad123 · 12/10/2012 21:20

Where are you coff?

OP posts:
lisad123 · 12/10/2012 21:22

It's not a MN booking it a group of people who all know me and therefore she has given me a code to use for those that are booking via me iyswim, so yes of course dh can come Grin

OP posts:
coff33pot · 12/10/2012 21:22

Grin I love the idea of the lapels!

Yes at the moment its £155 for a return ticket (not first class either lol) Moosemama and that is taking a train out of london after rush hour and not getting home till 1am and then driving or taxi back which would be another £30 each way or the same parking at the mo. I would have to work out to stay overnight the night before as its over 6hrs travel you see. hmmmm need to have a think and a rummage around for discounts me thinks and travel may be cheaper after new year you never know.

coff33pot · 12/10/2012 21:22

Near Lands End Lisad Grin

moosemama · 12/10/2012 21:29

I meant are we going to let him crash lunch Lisa. Wink

I wasn't sure I if either of us should use the code really, feel like we should pay full price as we aren't part of a specific group, not that we can afford it.

lisad123 · 12/10/2012 21:36

Why shouldn't you? I explained to the lady on the phone that I had a large group of people wanting tickets and could she give a code for a group booking. It's no different from me gathering money together from everyone and booking it, it's just easier this way.

OP posts:
moosemama · 12/10/2012 21:53

If you're sure it's ok and won't get you into trouble. Thanks

pannetone · 12/10/2012 22:31

Thank you lisad123 I have booked using your code - and I am now officially part of the group of people who know you!

I am a bit excited -never been to anything like this before! Maybe DH should have got me a ticket as a 'magnificent Christmas present' as the booking page blurb suggests!
