Am I the only Moaning Minne that isn't looking forward to it?!!!

Ok, I will get a lie in, but it is my turn on a Sunday anyway

The rest of the day wil be a 'normal' Sunday for us, I wil get screamed at, moaned at, trampled on and argue with DH coz it is all so stressful!!

Please tell me I'm not on my own!!!

well I'm laughing- ds1's bus driver appeared at our door with a bag with a plant in and a fantastic home made card (obviuosly made with lots of help). I said "oh ds1 lok at this its lovely" he looked at it, grabbed it and threw it in the cellar (which means he likes it- everything he likes goes in the cellar). :o

Don't worry it will have zero meaning to ds1. I know what you mean (and don't even get a lie in Envy)

Luckily I've never "done" mother's day. My mum came from a generation in Ireland that simply didn't do it so we never did when we were growing up. Thank god, I'd have to become even more of a hypocrite than I already am! (where my mum is concerned I mean). Aside from that, so far I find that very few "special" days are different to any others apart from the fact that there may be no school for days, weeks on end (Xmas). Birthdays etc are just the same as all other days as far as DS is concerned. DD has just turned 3 so she is beginning to understand a bit so that will be nice in the future, but we've had a long time of everything trundling along as if nothing's happened (what a blimmin mysery!).

dd came home with a lovely card and pressie. must have had loads of help but the message was from her(computor) She was so pleased to give it to me:)
Other than that sunday will just be the same as usual. I even buy my own pressie as dh doesn't do presents.:(

My ds made a mothers day card, with a present nicely wrapped. As soon as he got out of the classroom door he began opening it, I told him that I should be the one to open it, he just muttered that he made it so he should be the one to open it. Don't think he's quite got the gist of present making and giving just yet.

My day will be just the same as well, I won't be taken out to a restaurant or anything like that as ds would just cause mayhem.

Clocks change tonight don't they? So I get less sleep Shock

I found a Mother's DAy card in the bottom of J's school bag when I emptied it on Friday - he never does, homework would stay there forever if he had his way. He went ballistic and I got into trouble for 'spoiling the surpise'. And he's been a git today as well. So much for making Mum feel appreciated!

Hope you all have a lovely Mother's Day.

emmalou78 · 25/03/2006 17:17

Yes, the clocks change, so even if you get alie in, it doesn't count!

I think its a load of hogwash personally, but have to buy a card etc for my mum or she stops talkignt o me for a few months [though frankly right now I'd welcome that] DS1 painted a plantpot at school then tehy put a primrose is it which is lovely, and he wants to make me a card whilst i put ds2 to bed...DS2 came home from pre school with a card his keyworker had made for me on tuesday...

It'll be a normal sunday for me, I'll get up if its not to wet go for a 3 mile walk [and try to run for a bit as well..] have my slim fast and crack on with teh housework, ds1 will get bored, ds2 will get flappy and Dp will just gfet in the way!

our ds doesnt understand about special days he thinks he gets pressents as well!Smile

But today has been really busy and we just realised we forgot to pick him a pressie to open so my husband has just ran to morrisons in the rain to try and find him dvd to open, wich of course i will have to sit and watch 400000 times!!

my husband does try to make it special bless him but ds got no idea what the day is so like you all i get screamed at things thrown at me and i still have to run round after him as he wants mommy to do everything not daddy!

Hope everyone has the best day they can as we are all really special mommys for what we do xx

DS does not get a present: he doesn't get it either but I'm not doing it for all 3 and for 1 and not the others is unfair.

Tomorrow will be OK I suspect, after though (Monday) I expect his overload level to take effect Sad- typically as SH goes back towork and I have a huge end of term workload.
