If you have experienced transferring a statement from one LA to another due to moving house how did it go? It would mean a new school for DS as a move of 100 miles. Was your child out of school for a period whilst re-assessed? Were you able to get current LA to talk to future LA prior to the move or do new LA refuse to discuss until you have an address in their area. Basically what do you wish you had known before you made the move...?!
Our DS's statement provision is quite extensive, so wondering what to expect and also best time to make the move. Was thinking end of school year for ease of leaving one school but on other hand getting new school up to speed over summer might be impossible...any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
