Ds has very complex needs and we need to find his next school (has full time sm). It's looking like a unit in mainstream is the best option available locally but have been advised that even there he would need extra provision as he would still require a high level of TA support when not in the unit. We were advised that a personalised package may need to be made available so I'm now wondering whether a specialist independent school would be better. Can anyone advise me how units work in mainstream? Do the children go between the 2 places depending on need?
