when was the last time you realised what an amazingly strong parent to your children you are...I want us all to pay attention to just how strong we are..and pat our backs collectiveley

Just as the title says really.....

I think we should all be mindful that we are doing everything within our power and strength for our children and allow ourselves to feel that pride and what we have helped our children to achieve and continue to achieve.

We are special parents with special children and we have one of the most challenging jobs there is and we can wear so many hats, all of the time....we are amazing!!!

I'm sending loving thoughts and acknowledgement to you all

Exactly - we are not 'special mommies' we are just great parents full stop ! Not perfect but certainly great.

LEA have confirmed they are in process of drafting statement, SA comm paed reported suspected ASD, collected exellent evidence and reports from GOSH APD, Margo Sharp and Daphne Keen and have found charity to take on DS's case from here and enter into negotiations by phone and letter with LEA and represent at Tribunal if necessary. 6 months ago I had nothing and no chance of winning and so DS was being left to fail badly. Now I am on a roll!

Since DS has been out of school his anxieties as well as other behaviours have reduced significantly. DS is rather 'demand avoidant' and so I have to leave him to his own devices - so far this is working out great as he has been spending hours quietly playing lego, making computer animations, drawing, playing logic games on his Ipod, watching some TV but also reading. The extreme passivity is reduced - he has got dressed, cleaned his teeth, got a drink when thirsty or a snack for elevensies and has even tidied his room - all independently and spontaneously.

So huge pat on the back for him for having the courage to say 'enough is enough' and force the issue.

Also huge pat on the back for him too and for having the courage to board for his evaluation at Frewen even though he is unable to attend the village school.

My DS is out of school too. His anxieties and fears and everything have so overwhelmed him he simply can't function.
He is at home, me maintaining the simplest balance and peace for him, he is playing lego, laptop and xbox and barely leaving his room....
but...he seems to be smiling a bit more than he was...is still hyper sensitive and unable to carry out even the simplest tasks for himself and a click away from errupting at the drop of a hat......constant egg shell walking here....

We are waiting for specialist provision placement and then we can begin the admission work, etc for weekly residential school....DS is bravely (as always) facing this prospect with some positivity so far....we are waiting and hoping...

Our children are strong because we are...or actually maybe we are strong because they are

come on guys....you can't all be feeling so low that you can't see how amazing you are!!

We need to tell each other we are strong and recognise that we have special blessings here and we should share the positives too...sometimes we need to be told we are doing a good job, working and fighting, and be proud of ourselves in being able to keep going as we do....
