Hi there!

I am the mother of three children, two of them have Autism - High Functioning. My daughter (7) has a statement and my son doesn't yet but this is imminent. My oldest is neurologically typical but has a mild form of Spina Bifida which affects his bowels.

I am married to a very hard working man who makes me laugh. I am an independent specialist teacher (special needs, learning and behavioural difficulties) so it has been very weird and eye-opening seeing it all from a parental angle. So much of an eye-opener that I lost all respect for the local authority and wouldn't work for them again!

I'm looking forward to "meeting" you all.

:)

Hi,

Welcome to MN. There are a number of SN professionals here with Children who have SN. Some jumped ship, most fighting from within. But loads of parents too.

And I bet your profession counted for nothing whilst fighting for your child!?

Hi sosej. I actually really love your username, it made me laugh. Grin

I have two out of three with issues, and also jacked in a job with the LA in a fit of disillusionment. Grin nowt so posh as yours though. Grin

I'd quite like dh to make me laugh, but mostly he is asleep on the sofa...
