Just wanted to share some good news as we all have so many gripes and worries its great to say 'YAY' when things go well.

DS(5yrs, deleopment delay, poss ADHD) is starting to socialise and now prefers to play with other children rather than on his own (still prefers adults, but then they tend to do what you want so games are more on your terms with an adult), is starting to recognise facial expressions and respond accordingly, asking 'why is that person sad, or angy', is bothered if he upsets someone and doesn't want it to be that way, is backing off when friends dont want to play his game or do what he wants, and accepts sometimes things dont go his way, and doesn't have a total hissy fit about it!!!

What a difference a few months makes to a 5 year old

The light is at the end of the social skills tunnel and getting bigger daily....YAY

:)

Smile That is a massive step forward isn't it. Clever chap.. Learning stuff that other people get as a freebie... How clever is that! Ds (15 asd) doesn't do a lot of face reading still. But the other evening he obviously read on my face that I was confused by what he said... So he repeated it for me straight away. I was Shock ...and It made my day!
