I ssem to recall the consultant telling us DD couldn't have hearing aids as it would make her ears too moist and therefore prone to infection... but I can't quite remember if this was before or during the grommets/perforation saga we had.

Sorry, that isn't very helpful is it?

Yes. My son has a glue filled mastoid air cell system. He wears a BAHA (bone anchored hearing aid) on a softband. It vibrates the sound through the skull to reach the inner ear. He wasn't able to wear hearing aids in the ear, as we were never able to get a decent fit of the moulds and he us too young for the plastic plugs. The BAHA can eventually be mounted in a titanium peg onto the skull, but we hope that we won't be needing to do that by then. His glue ear is unlikely to be cured by the way.

Hi, DD has worn hearing aids due to glue ear (as grommets didn't work).

Not wearing at present as her ears are currently clear, for first time in her life, which may or may not be related to the fact we switched from cows milk to goats milk.
