Claiming DLA again after a 5 year hiatus!

DD was trachy dependent up until 2007. I gave up DLA entirely for a number of reasons including new babies and I just plain forgot to notify them of the change in circumstances. I know..... Stupid of me. Anyway. Things have changed since then, she has had three nasty surgeries on her mouth for SLT, and this hasn't made her speech anymore intelligible. She has also consequently developed a serious lung condition and requires CPAP nightly for severe obstructive sleep apnoea.

Has anyone had to reapply years later for DLA and how much detail did you have to give for previous claims? Also, do you think it's worth claiming again?

DD has a craniofacial condition, which gives her reflux, speech articulation difficulties, respiratory problems, and severe OSA.

They can only say yes or no. If they say no then you are no worse off and you can decide whether to appeal. I'm sure you have plenty of documentation to send them :D

Well the only reports I've got are GOS letters about her bronchiectasis, collapsed lung, CPAP, probably could get SLT reports about her therapy plus no doubt a letter about future jaw surgeries and orthodontic work!
