How many SEN transport threads did I start last year vos of there fffcking incompetence ...
Well even they have bet there record this year
At 2.30 today they phoned me to say they have no escort for DS to start at his new school until at least next week instead of tomorow morning aaarrrgggg
They've had 8 weeks to sort this but no I already agreed for DS to have an extra 2 weeks holiday so we could have a good transition but now it's been extended again I'm getting cross,DS was so looking forward to school in the morning and going in the taxi and I was looking forward to some me time
Its been a long 8 weeks and now it's getting longer

Blimey, strongcoffee! Ten weeks? I'd be going slowly insane. Would they let you escort him in the taxi for a week or so (then bring you home?) I'm sure they'll be a billion reasons why not but they must be willing to compromise, surely?

I did escort my DS in the taxi for several weeks when he was having bus 'issues' - I think the only thing they were worried about was I might ask to get paid Grin

Although a different LEA were paying a friend who was a PA for her DS Envy

Strongecoffeeismydrug · 17/09/2012 18:09

They wouldn't let me cos there are 3 kids in the taxi that ain't mine!im crb checked
It's the original escort who won't transport 4 kids without another pair of hands,I understand this but they've know thic for 2 months plenty of time to sort it!

That's mad. If you are CRB checked, why not? It's their problem, though and they should really be coming up with a better solution than 'wait another week.' Angry And pigs might fly...

I'm in tears here it's been a really hard almost 9 weeks already and tomorow really was the light at the end of the tunnel.
I'm also going to be in more trouble from work about having to take time off at short notice(transport regularly didn't turn up last year).
I've told the LA I would never have agreed to this school transfer if I wasn't assured 100 percent transport would be excellent and they are already messing us about.
DS and I had lots of fun today looking for things to go into his lunchbox for tomorr and now he's just in self distruct mode while them in their comfy offices will be at home not giving it another thought..
Well no sleep for me again tonight :(

Contact your LA head of childrens services & ask how he or she is going to get your ds to school tomorrow.
You have been more than patient but they are responsible for providing safe transit to & from school for your ds.

SHout, shout & shout louder, go to the top & insist on action.

Strongecoffeeismydrug · 17/09/2012 19:12

I'm shouting,I've also asked for everything in writing and I've asked for a meeting with the educational welfare officer so we can get accustomed seeing as I'm in no position to get my DS to school and transport ate useless the EWO is going to be my social life until the incompetent assholes realise I'm no push over

That's awful for you and your DS.

Why is the PA not able to deal with 4 DCs?A lot of PAs have to deal with 4 or more. It's not right that they haven't sorted it out !

Strongecoffeeismydrug · 17/09/2012 21:46

She doesn't feel comfortable at the thought of 4 kids as 2 are runners, however my son isn't.
I asked them how they came to the conclusion about which child they wouldn't transport and they said seeing as my son has the last start date(tomorow) he's the one.
So he's being discriminated by transport because the sen statement officer didn't sort out the statement paperwork out in time for him to start with the other kids 2 weeks ago.
