Hi ,
Husband and I are looking to move to Nottingham area. I am 30 weeks pregnant with a beautiful little girl who was diagnosed with Down' Syndrome at 21 weeks. I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of special needs provisions in the area and if there is a significant difference in provision between Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council. This is all new to us so we are pretty unsure where we could find out such information and what to look for.

Hi I don't think I will be much help but I thought I'd post anyway. There are plenty special ed schools around Nottingham and in Mansfield ( close by) where I live and special ed college. I can't comment on notts county council support for children with special needs and starting school yet as my daughter doesn't start til next year but I've heard they are good! Hope this helps ano it's not much Smile

I have heard that individual schools can be great but that they have a terrible reputation for issuing statements.
