Hi ,
Husband and I are looking to move to Nottingham area. I am 30 weeks pregnant with a beautiful little girl who was diagnosed with Down' Syndrome at 21 weeks. I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of special needs provisions in the area and if there is a significant difference in provision between Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council. This is all new to us so we are pretty unsure where we could find out such information and what to look for.

There is a local Downs group in Nottingham here as I know someone who has used it and I would get in touch with parents for the real info. I don't know much else about Nottingham except that it considers its SEN provision so good that it doesn't think any child needs a statement of SEN. Many parents don't agree so getting a statement in Nott is harder than other areas.

Hi Agnes and baboos, Thank you for replies. Will get in touch with local Down's support group. A bit of a worry about getting a statement. Baboos, I've had a look at askiris website and looks good and helpful. May also give county council a call as well.
Thank You
