My Dd2 has just started college, she is very lucky to have a place at a very good college that has won awards and is apparently one of the best vocational colleges in the country.

On Tuesday the first day of courses every new student was screened for dyslexia.

They do this because they get so many students coming in who have never been tested.

I am really glad that Dd2 has finally been tested, I have asked many times at school when she was younger and as she got older she refused to attend a test.

She was seen by a BO when she was 7 and had coloured lenses for about 4 years until she wouldnt wear them.

I am waiting with baited breath to see if she will be referred for a full test.

Just wanted to let you know that some educational establishments are taking dyslexia seriously but isnt it a shame that the children have to be 16 to go there!

What a relief that something is being done at last. I share your frustration Ds was eventually assessed and diagnosed with dyslexia in July at the end of yr10 although we had been raising the issue since he was in reception.
