Sensory Integration issue or semantic pragmatic disorder?

My head is swimming. I have finally managed to talk to someone on the phone who has been able to give me some suggestions as to reasons for my ds2's behaviour (he is almost four). These were the two things that occurred to her and she suggested a couple of books, but I have had a look online and he doesn't seem really to fit the description for either.
Can anyone help me go forward with this?

I would talk to your GP and try to get a referral to a paediatrician. If not, you could try BIBIC (www.bibic.org.)You can book a telephone interview with them which is free and they'll go through your child's history and current behaviour in detail. You can then choose whether to visit them for assessment or not. It's expensive, but they aim not to turn anyone away who can't afford it - there are bursaries you can apply for. They are excellent for sensory problems, in my experience.

If you feel you want to go into more detail about your son on here, there are lots of people who will be able to give you advice!

Thanks, this is helpful. I actually had a thread on here a couple of weeks ago, which was very vague, and it was the input I got from MNers which made me follow it up a little more. It may be that neither of these things applies to him, but at the moment I am clutching desperately at straws, because I feel so convinced that this is not just "normal little boy behaviour" as so many people try to tell me it is. Really, I know that assessment is what we need, I was just wondering if anyone had experience of actually putting these two possibilities head to head.
