What happens if my DLA renewal decision isn't made before it runs out?

DD1's was last made till sept 20th this year. I sent the renewal form off in early June and have had a letter confirming they were dealing with it but no decision yet and it is getting close. I guess they stop paying? Do they then backdate?

We've had HRC since she was 3 months old and nothing has changed other than more issues but I am still worried as I know it doesn't mean much!

They should backdate, yes. If you downloaded or were automatically sent the form, then from when they received it. If you called and asked for it, then usually from the day you made the request.

I had this worry and they renewed at same rate for another two years five dayss before it was due to expire

Oh ok thank you, and chundle I hope we get an answer before it stops too! They sent me the form automatically and I got it back to them in July I have just realised rather than June but still allowing more than two months before the renewal date so fingers crossed.
