My dd came home from school today with a note in her diary about unacceptable behaviour.
She is messing about when they try to lift her back in to her wheelchair. extending and kicking(and laughing) he has asked me to speak to her.
I have done this. but what else can I do.
She has cp can't talk has no sense of danger to herself or others. She is very bright so I know she is doing this to be naughty.
I am just finding this really hard. I don't believe in punishing at home for something at school. anyway how could you punish her. Even the school doesn't do that
Any Ideas

What about a star chart?

nothercules · 16/03/2006 22:49

a treat if a good week at the end - eg a trip somewhere nice.

funny i have told them I am going to change the chart she has.
She has a chart already where they mark what she does when she goes(she has problems with constipation) so I am going to add a bit imn for if she is good or bad, She loves books and I have told her if she is bad no new books. so If she is good for a few days I will reward her.
I know Blackmail!

What about a behaviour book? For good and bad.

nothercules · 16/03/2006 22:51

The star chart should be a separate thing with a star for good behabviour only - nothing bad on it.

nothercules · 16/03/2006 22:52

just remember that is her way of asserting herself as she cant do it in other ways.

good idea about star chart just for good.
