DLA renewal form finished and posted- phew!

After weeks of sweating blood and tears over the damn thing, today DH is off to post the form Grin

It's going Recorded Delivery and looks like it weighs a tonne! Almost feel sorry for the poor sod who gets it at the other end.

Now for the dreaded wait- I feel sick at the thought of the decision letter, even though dd's needs -at 11- are far in excess of her peers.
Anyone have any idea about current waiting times?
Thanks.

I posted mine about 6 weeks ago and apart from an acknowledgment letter, I'm still waiting to hear. It's a renewal.

Sorry, I'm not too sure about the waiting times - just wanted to send a hug your way because it's hard work filling out those forms and focussing on all the negatives. I hate doing it, because I just want to scream at all the things my DS can do, and all his achievements. It feels so wrong to list all the bad.

siblingrivalry · 08/09/2012 14:29

Thanks for the replies and the hug Smile

I found it utterly depressing- in fact for at least a couple of weeks it affected my mental health; I got really low and worried about dd's future.
Thinking about her limitations in such detail gave me a lot of food for thought and I had to pull myself out of it.

I am hoping and praying that the renewal is straightforward and then I can forget about it for a while.

This is absolutely what happens to me, I get drawn into just how grim it is - and my usual chirpy optimism takes a dive. Horrid horrid horrid!

Bumping to say I got my DSs award letter today. Just after 6 weeks of sending the renewal off.

UnChartered · 10/09/2012 15:51

posted DDs 10 days ago - 3rd attempt at filling it in (others expired) and i've not heard anything yet

and i agree about it affecting your MH, i'm in a spiralling panic now - all the things we do for her that you forget about because it's 'normal' for your family Sad

honking for favourable results for everyone
